Meta: Creators

Meta / 2022
Produced at Wolf-Den Studios
Role: Designer, Animator

During early 2022, Wolf-Den approached me with a creative problem with Meta. As you probably know, Meta made a huge shift of focus to the Metaverse not too long ago. Having that said, there were a lot of questions and concerns on how we would be able to implement this into our own lives and how it can become beneficial for content creators.

We collaborated for visual development of toolkits that could be used for representing these content creators in the Metaverse. Our key points were making these visuals feel high energy and reinforcing of Meta’s brand.

Approach #1

Paintball

A word that kept resonating with me through this whole exploration was “craftsmanship”. As a content creator, your artistry is the key to separating yourself from everyone else. We loved the concept of blending this new idea of the Metaverse with classic art mediums.

By exploring painterly textures we found a beautiful mix with using paintballs in this Metaverse of creators.

Approach #2

Process

We loved the idea of using abstract 3D elements in our world because of the flexibility we would have with the colors and forms. It was easy to art direct these clothes on the fly as each cloth was generated off of a displacer effect as opposed to being simulated.
