Middlemen
Middlemen / 2021
Produced at Wesley Phung Creative
Role: Director / Designer / Animator
Middlemen came to me with an ask to create a video that would convey to potential investors what exactly their mission is.
Through kinetic type explorations and dynamic design layouts, we quickly found a visual language that would fit in with our creative. We wanted the video to be expressive, hip, and most importantly, easy to follow.

Kinetic Text
The idea was simple, we would use kinetic text to direct the viewers attention. Kinetic typography allowed us to highlight different lines of copy with fast-paced editing while using a dynamic soundtrack that would cut to the copy.
We pull design inspiration from a bunch of different streetwear brands and how they treat type in shopping settings such as store fronts and malls.
Trading Collectibles
Trading collectibles were a key element in telling Middlemen’s story. Middlemen serves as an efficient and safe platform for tracking collectibles such as shoes, cards, and clothing.
We saw a great opportunity for showcasing these collectibles in our space. We wanted to make them feel like they’re part of a streetwear magazine.
